Smoothing the transition from NCEA to University Assessment In-Person

This workshop is aimed at 100 level teaching staff and course co-ordinators who are unfamiliar with the Secondary school NCEA qualification and how it influences students' expectations of assessment. The workshop will give a brief overview of NCEA and address the 'Why do they think that?' questions participants may have about student expectations. The substantive aspect of the workshop will be to consider how assessments (including mark schedules) might help support students in their transition to university level study. To this end, participants will be required to bring an electronic copy of a coursework assessment that they think might benefit from some fine tuning.
