RU OK workshop In-Person

LOCATION:  CO118

Do you want to improve your understanding of mental wellbeing?

Do you want to improve your awareness of mental health issues in the workplace and at home?

Do you want to learn an easy to use framework for asking colleagues, friends and family if they are OK?

Introduction

Emotional and social wellbeing is one of three themes in Victoria’s Staff Wellbeing Strategy.  These workshops are designed to provide staff with the skills to understand mental wellbeing in the workplace.  There are times when our colleagues or staff may be impacted by mental health issues such as depression, drugs and alcohol or stress. Staff who attend the workshops will be well equipped and confident to show concern for their colleagues and will be able to ask them if they are OK using the “R u OK?” framework.  Participants will also know where to refer people if they need some help.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of the workshop participants will:

  • Have improved their awareness and understanding of mental wellbeing

  • Be able to recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions

  • Know a useful framework “R u OK?” for supporting someone with mental illness

  • Have built confidence in transferring the skills and knowledge into their personal and work life

  • Awareness of mental health conditions – signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions
