FGR PhD Workshop Managing and storing data during your PhD In-Person

A dazzling array of formats and platforms exist for storing research data and documentation, each of which has strengths and weaknesses. Deciding which one to choose is important, so what should you consider when making this decision?  This workshop will be particularly useful for candidates near the beginning of their PhD.

University staff will discuss best practice in managing documents and storing data during your candidature, as well as how to deposit your data once your thesis is completed.  Topics covered will include:

  • Document management
  • Managing VUW documents
  • What to consider when using private information
  • What to consider when storing your thesis
  • What to do with your data once you have completed your thesis

The workshop will be delivered by Craigie Sinclair (Manager, VUW Information and Records Management), Katy Miller (Manager, VUW Library Research Services and Jonathan Flutey (Digital Learning and Research Manager, VUW ITS Service and Operations Group) and Matt Plummer (Digital Research Consultant,Centre for Academic Development).
