New Zealand on two wheels: Tales of two famous THW bikepackers In-Person

The notion of travelling long distances on a bike is nothing new.  We’ve all seen it - a cyclist riding down State Highway 1 on a hot summer day loaded up with panniers and backpacks and thought that doesn’t look like fun!  Well, bikepacking is different - it’s a combination of multi-day cycling and lightweight backpacking that can be completed on mixed terrain or entirely off road with the rider carrying their equipment on the bike.  Staff Wellness Manager, Trish Knight and Professor John Randal are experienced bikepackers.  Earlier this year Trish completed the 3000 km Tour Aotearoa (TA) from Cape Reinga to Bluff.  John has ridden many bikepacking holidays, rode the Tour de France course in 2018 raising money for The Mental Health Foundation, and often plots to ride every street in a neighbourhood near you!  Come along and hear inspiring stories from two THW famous bikepackers and they’ll show you how little equipment you’ll need to plan your own bikepacking holiday this summer.
