FGR "Dealing with different types of students" In-Person / Online
A session available for academic staff to help encourage quality supervision of research students.
Objective: To provide an overview of different types of students and good practices when it comes to supporting them
The session comprises a brief presentation followed by a group discussion. Topics covered include:
- Types of doctoral students
- The use coaching and mentoring in doctoral supervision
- Why coaching and mentoring matters
- Skills that make you a good coach and mentor
- Coaching and mentoring strategies for supporting different types of students
You can decide whether to attend in person or online
