FGR "Dealing with different types of students" In-Person / Online

A session available for academic staff to help encourage quality supervision of research students.

Objective: To provide an overview of different types of students and good practices when it comes to supporting them

The session comprises a brief presentation followed by a group discussion. Topics covered include:

  1. Types of doctoral students
  2. The use coaching and mentoring in doctoral supervision
  • Why coaching and mentoring matters
  • Skills that make you a good coach and mentor
  • Coaching and mentoring strategies for supporting different types of students

You can decide whether to attend in person or online
