This session will explore how you can improve your research (both in terms of quality and impact) through an increased uptake in the use of digital research tools, including Qualtrics, NVivo, Reference management (primarily Zotero). There are two key goals for the session:

• Introduce you to the digital research tools and resources available in the VUW environment (note there have been some major changes as a result of the change proposal). It will also introduce you to the key support teams and people, and the opportunities available for capability development and training
• Start a discussion around the digital research tools already being used by members and explore how these might be applicable to other disciplines/approaches

Dr. Hayden Thorne is a recent PhD graduate from VUW, and until very recently was a Digital Research Consultant in the Centre for Academic Development at VUW. He now works in the Research Office as a research funding advisor but maintains a strong interest in helping academics to learn and implement new digital tools.
