ON HOLD_(FGR) Writing a winning ethics application In-Person / Online

The University has a Human Ethics Committee (HEC) which reviews, approves and monitors research projects involving human participants, their data or tissue. They're like the superheroes of ethical conduct, making sure everything runs smoothly. To help them help you faster, it's a great idea to give them all the nitty-gritty details in your ethics application. Show that you've thought about potential risks, share your plans to minimize them, and toss in a backup plan for any unexpected curveballs. It's like giving them a roadmap to understand your project better. Trust me, taking that extra time to polish your application from the get-go can speed up the whole process. You might even skip the whole resubmission dance and save months of waiting time. Make your first submission count for a smoother ride through the ethics review process!

What are the key things the Ethics Committee looks for when reviewing ethics applications? In this workshop, you will pick up some key information and learn some practical tips to help you write a good application for human research ethics approval.

IMPORTANT: We need to put the session ON HOLD for now. We are currently working with the HEC team to determine the most effective approach for this session. The HEC team is undergoing some changes and is also in the process of implementing a new Ethics management system. As a reasult, we are reevaluating our session plans to ensure they align with these developments. I will keep you updated and reach out to you directly once we have confirmed the new date for the session.
